About Us – Meet the Amazing Race Melbourne Team
Every Amazing Race we host has one goal – to leave teams feeling happier and more connected. Amazing Race Melbourne is an unforgettable group activity which lets team managers reward their hard working team, strengthen bonds and improve relationships.
“Rah Rah” team building is not our style. We don’t overhype the teams, nor do we force anyone to participate or make the challenges intimidating. We ensure your great team experience by keeping things light hearted and inclusive.
Founded in 2005, we’ve run events for more than 1,200 teams. With continuous tweaks we hit on a model that makes Amazing Race Melbourne suitable for pretty much any team. (The only exception being “too cool for school” hipsters and an entire company of alpha males).
We run the event in a relaxed and friendly manner. Plus, we are super organised, so you can focus on having fun. The best part for us is feeling the excitement at the end of the race – we love hearing loud chatter and laughter as teams relax with a cold beverage and compare notes.
During busy times, there is no more effective way to build rapport than to dedicate some time to team fun. Bonded teams are better teams!
Events are managed by our friendly, talented leaders and facilitators; Melanie Ashton, Nikki Coghill, Melissa Turnbull, Jayne Reynolds, Latham Ashton, Clem Pearson and Kara Smith
Amazing Race Melbourne’s friendly and approachable team have a variety of backgrounds, including teaching, human resources, tourism and event management. Their role is to make the activity safe and fun for our clients. Well organised and experienced with group dynamics, your event is in great hands with this team.

Amazing Race Melbourne is hosted by Australia’s leading provider of fun team events, Team Bonding.
Cate Richards is the owner of Amazing Race Melbourne and Team Bonding. Cate left her corporate career in 2005, seeking the challenge of founding and running her own business.
Cate’s corporate career encompassed marketing, research and advertising. She launched Team Bonding in December 2006 after intuiting a market gap for a team building company that put together simple, fun events accessible for all teams and all budgets
Cate will be the voice on the phone to guide you through your event.
Having worked with thousands of excellent teams, we consistently find that the most successful teams have common goals, consistently excellent delivery, strong communication skills and mutual respect. The highest performing teams invariably have strong interpersonal bonds and enjoy each other’s company. Shared bonds build team resilience and strength.
Managers today are aware that their team members are happier and more productive working with people they like and respect. People don’t often leave happy teams, so an investment of time and money dedicated to bonding will reward the organisation with stable, productive and happy workers.
